Background
The MediCaptain project was inspired by an injury I suffered while playing soccer as a teen. The metatarsal region of the foot is a very vulnerable bone that is exposed during game play as cleats barely provide any protection while playing. Countless players have been affected by injuries to this region of the foot. All soccer players can attest that getting stomped on is one of the worst feelings. Serious injuries such as metatarsal fractures, bone bruises, permanent nerve damage and more can occur when getting impacted by spikes in this region. The MediCaptain addresses this vulnerability and provides protection using a flexible silicone padding that covers the metatarsal region.
We specifically engineered the padding to make sure it does not alter the “feel” for the game. We created two socks using this Shock Protect padding. First, the MediCaptain Ultimate is an All-in-One Soccer Sock with maximum protection as it includes a built in shin guard, metatarsal shock padding, and grip sock technology. Second, we created the MediCaptain Lite to be tailored to casual play, and versatile enough to be used in any sport that involves cleats and contact. This sock includes the shock protect padding and grip sock technology for that anti-slip feel and snug fit.
My vision is to build the MediCaptain brand into becoming a leading and innovative sports protective gear company. I believe this project is the first step.

How will the sock fit in my cleats with the extra padding?
We have tested the socks in many different types of cleats and have found no fitting issue. For cleats that are more narrow and thin, it will take more effort to put the sock in, but with a few pushes it will go in fine. With transparency, we will say that putting on the cleat with the MediCaptain Sock will need slightly more effort than putting on a regular thin sock.
What if my team doesn’t allow me to show other brand logos?
You can apply white tape over our logo on the sock to stay in compliance with the team rules!
Can I use the MediCaptain™ Ultimate for other sports?
Absolutely! While designed for soccer, the MediCaptain™ Ultimate’s versatility makes it suitable for any sport that involves cleats and contact, such as lacrosse, football, baseball, and rugby.
What is Metatarsal Shock Pad?

Why isn’t there Kids/Youth Sizing?
Since we are just starting out as a new brand, we wanted to focus on adult sizing to start because adding multiple lines of product would be costly. If we are successful, we will definitely look to add youth sizing. Currently, our sizing starts at size 4 Men (US)
