1․ Reduce stress on the chip
The built-in NVMe chip is fast. Very fast. And with top transfer speeds well above 1050 MB/s—faster than you’ll need— your Planck SSD will rarely (if ever) be pushed to its limits during your recording sessions, resulting in smooth performance without overheating and without frame drops.
2․ Redirect the generated heat
The chip is covered by 1.5mm thermal pads that absorb the generated heat and redirect it efficiently onto a 2mm thick heat sink.
3․ Remove the heat
The entire plug side of the Planck SSD is in direct contact with the thermal pads and acts as a heat sink (radiator) that effectively directs the heat away from the SSD. The plug-side placement also makes sure it doesn’t get too hot in your hand.
